WithoutAsking is a web-based tool that lets small businesses import their internal documents and gives their team a place to ask questions and get accurate answers sourced from those documents.
Instead of Slacking the owner, emailing a manager, or digging through Google Docs, team members type a question in plain English and get an answer in seconds. Every answer cites which document it came from.
Small business owners with 10-30 employees spend 30-60 minutes every day answering the same questions from their team. The answers exist in documents, but nobody reads them. The owner becomes the bottleneck.
Enterprise knowledge management tools (Guru, Document360, Glean) solve this problem, but they cost $120-400+ per month with per-seat pricing. A 15-person team can't justify that.

1. Add your docs. Upload PDFs, Word documents, or plain text files. Import from Google Drive, Notion, or Dropbox. If you use WithoutMe for procedures, import those too.
2. Your docs get indexed. The system reads your documents, breaks them into searchable sections, and makes them available for questions. This happens automatically after import.
3. Team asks questions. Any team member with access can type a question in the app or use the /ask command in Slack. The system searches your documents, finds the most relevant passages, and generates an answer with source citations.
4. Owner stays informed. Admins see what gets asked, which topics come up most, which questions go unanswered, and which docs need updating. Content gap reports cluster unanswered questions by topic so you know what to write next.
